Very cool and chic coffee shop, the place has a dark accent wall along with some wood and greenery accents. The music playing was more on the upbeat side so the ambiance was more party like than chill coffee shop vibes. I was in the festive mood so I got one of their seasonal specials: the Maple Sage Latte. I forgot to order the latte as decaf so I asked to have it made with decaf and the barista was so kind and remade it for me. Overall I liked my drink, both the maple and sage flavors were a bit muted but it was still delicious.

Late review. I was in PDX last month and we always make it a habit to stop by on our last day (11/6). Not only was the coffee terrific as always, but the exceptional customer service, ambience and music (Mark Anthony)! Eric stopped by, chatted with us, and you can tell he loves what he does and his team. The female barista (I can't recall her name), was so friendly and entertaining, as she provided a refill of their amazing batch brew. If I could give Sterling Coffee Roasters 10 stars I would! My favorite local coffee roaster in PDX. Cheers

I love sterling! Their coffee is so good. I love that the staff dresses really nice. They are very very nice too. The inside of the cafe is big and open and bright. There is lots of seating but it's sometimes pretty full. I went back in February when they had rose cardamom syrup and it was so good. Changed my life.

Drove all the way to downtown just to try this coffee shop. There's a lot of cute little shops around here as well. The weather here is amazing. The inside of the coffee shop is so cute and very packed for a Sunday morning. We got a caramel latte, one iced and one hot with oat milk. Def would recommend

With all the coffee competition in Portland, Sterling definitely sticks out amongst the rest! From the outstanding & warm staff, to the dazzling atmosphere, this place is nothing short of an absolute gem in the Rose City. The espresso is second to none, and their "Blendo Stupendo" blend is a must try for locals and tourists alike. You can tell that the owner has a heart for the coffee scene, as he explained to me all the different types of blends and fun facts that each of them had to offer. My only issue is that I wish I would have tried this place much sooner, as I had been hearing about it for some time. With all that being said, I can assure that I will be a regular customer at Sterling for a long time!

It was my second time coming here, I did not remember much about my first visit. I was in the area and I recalled being here once, so I decided to try it again. The hot latte was one of the best ones that I had lately. Idk how to explain it other than smooth tasting even unsweetened. Service was great, they actually delivered my drink to the table. I am not sure how they know which order is for which person since the people who took my order and delivered it were different. Friendly service overall. They have several seats inside, but each table has 2 chairs. I recommend this place, I had really good experience.

I love this place! It was a great spot to post up with my laptop when I first landed in PDX and was waiting to meet a friend. I actually took the light rail straight (45 min or so) from the airport to Providence Park ($2.50) , and walked about 0.5 mi to get here. Super easy distance and just a lovely journey. The baristas were super nice. There is ample seating, fun merch, WiFi, and a bathroom. I thoroughly enjoyed my spiced chai, or holiday chai. It was essentially a dirty chai with cozy fall flavors and beautiful latte art!

My favorite travel coffee location. I've visited countless coffee shops throughout my travels, to include: local area, the US, Mexico, Canada, Italy and Germany. Sterling Coffee is my absolute favorite when traveling. Only place I've ever gone back to while in the area. Usually, I'll try a spot only once so I get a variety of what the area has to offer. I saw no need after our first experience and the second experience was just as great. I'd even have stopped by before flying out, but we were leaving before they opened. You can tell coffee is serious here and the focus, because the counter is the focal positioned to be the focal point of the entire room. However, the staff and owner are anything but intimidating and willing to answer questions, make suggestions based off preference and explain their daily selections. Also, I've never seen multiple options for house blends and they each be unique. Simple, but it's that type of detail that resonates. For me, the biggest wow moment was how the espresso flight was presented and served (didn't get a photo, that's mybad). They split the presentation in half, served in a custom board and suggest how to experience each espresso and also cleanse your palate. This also ensures your shots are fresh and hot. Inside and outside is cafe-vibe through and through. Refurbished food furniture, small tables, live plants and big entry windows. It's great for sitting and enjoying or grabbing and going. Can't wait to go back.
